Metal Ghost

An old character, made as a counterpart to the metal minion

The metal golem was designed by the combined efforts of many generations of wizards specifically to bind solid metal and give it a form capable of doing work without human assistance. The final result of the experiments was a glowing golden orb, known simply as a heart, that when placed near metal would bend and twist the solid substance with so much force it would act like fluid, quickly forming a moldable shell for itself. It was soon discovered that these golems were quite powerful and intelligent, yet obedient, and they soon became one of the most feared weapons in the world. They were fast, strong, unpredictable, they could take a great variety of shapes with many different weapons and modes of attack, and their steel hide was nearly impossible to pierce.
This heart has assimilated a device that was created to allow the wizards to fly. This aerial unit has several roles, including asserting dominance of the sky and ambushing important targets far behind the front lines. They are particularly feared for their habit of swooping down and striking a line of warriors, maiming the lucky and decapitating the less fortunate, and then disappearing before nearby soldiers can react.
